RAMEH – On Friday 10 March 2017, in the context of Lent, an important meeting for relaunching Pastoral Work was held in Rameh, at the Latin Parish of St Anthony, in presence of the Latin Patriarchal Vicar in Israel Bishop Giacinto-Boulos Marcuzzo.
Before the meeting, Mass was celebrated by Bishop Marcuzzo. In his homily the Bishop presented the Lenen Message of Pope Francis and the Pastoral Message of the Apostolic Administrator, Archbishop Pizzaballa. At the end of the Mass, Bishop Marcuzzo called on the worshippers to pray the Way of the Cross before starting the meeting meant for relaunching Pastoral Work, started after the appointment of the new Italian-born parish priest, Fr. Paolo Alfieri.
The Parish Administrator Fr. Paolo Alfieri, the Rosary Sisters, leading figures from the Parish Council, the Association of St Anthony’s Youth as well as the Society of Christian Mothers and Legion of Mary have successively presented their work, underlining the difficulties and the growing opportunities. They all expressed readiness to give momentum to the community in a spirit of unity and solidarity. Bishop Marcuzzo focused on the main pastoral orientations to adopt : each is called to work with the Pastoral of young and family, in coordination with the Parish Administrator.
The Bishop concluded the meeting by thanking all the different associations and organizations for their work and sincerity toward the community and to the witness which they offer “in a strong Evangelical spirit, of unity and commitment”.
